Arguably the most unusual thing about this rod is the fact that Jacek specifically did not want a hook keeper.

Things I learned while building this rod

This was a very straightforward build once I had the materials assembled. I was worried that the yellow and black threads would bleed, making the yellow "green" (as happens in printed materials where yellow and black inks meet). My fears were unfounded...2 coats of color preserver (my standard application) was all that was needed to create a truly high contrast turned out quite strikingly!

An overview of Jacek's Rod. The Pac Bay A7 "chrome" reel seat.

A standard A Grade Reverse Half Wells Grip.

The St. Croix decal and a Brown Trout Decal. Notice there's no hookkeeper. The first line of Jacek's underside inscription. A humorous jab at our local fishin' rounds out Jacek's 2nd line of the underside inscription.
