This was a fun project...the guide wraps MUST be done by hand - there's no way to wrap it under power! This chevron wrap didn't exactly go as I originally planned it, but I like results all the same. This rod was available for purchase at $245; Adam Eibling purchased it on sale for $145.

Things I learned while building this rod

The largest *bitch* on this rod was the chevron wrap. Originally I wanted to set it up as mostly covered, with just a bit of the underwrap showing through. Each time I tried it though, due to the fact that it's running on 8 axises, everything past the 2nd course of thread was basically not touching the underwraps to start with! I tried taking off the thread, adding it back on again, and reworked it several times before deciding that basically, I was always most happy with the look of the wrap with just the first course of thread. So, I added in black to bring a sharp contrast the pattern and there you have it!

The chrome Pac Bay Hiloy Stripping Guide. The chrome snake guides. The ferrule wrap in dark green matches the blank's color almost perfectly.
